Mufti Day

We had a mufti day to support the Graeme Dingle Foundation is a Foundation that is committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children and young people, including prevention of child/young person abuse or maltreatment. I love mufti day because you get to see everyone's outfits and styles. My favorite  part of the day was wearing mufti and being comfy in my own clothes, I was wearing blue and white jeans and teal and pink shirt and a pink champion jersey. Mufti days are always the best because you get to be comfy and its normally just a relaxing fun day.

Skittles

 Skittles

Chromatography is a technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium which the components move at different rates.

Aim: to separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography

Martials:

1. 5 Skittles

2. Water

3. Petri dish

4. Beaker

Process:

Step 1: Get your equipment set up ready to pour 25mls of water into the petri dish with the skittles.

Step 2: Place the skittles into the petri dish around the edges.

Step 4: watch as the water removes the dye from the skittles. See which  colour reaches middles fastest.

Step 5: Record your results on the tables below.  (forgot to take a photo sorry)

Floods

 Floods

Few weeks ago there were floods around Christchurch and lots of other places I think that biggest flood was in Ashburton. It was really wet and cold for a couple days now it has been sunny.
Facts about the Flood in Ashburton:
Hundreds of north Canterbury residents have been evacuated from their homes because of these flood they've broken houses, shops, etc. - and further south, hundreds more Ashburton residents are on standby
The entire Canterbury region is now under a state of emergency and around 75 schools and preschools are closed on Monday as residents prepare for more upheaval.
Ashburton mayor Neil Brown said some locals had already started to evacuate overnight as rising river levels continued.

Friday Blog Day

Direct Mail - Week 3 News Term 2

 Friday Blog Day

Dear Readers,

Today's Blog is about Pink Shirt Day something we've been working on in class this week.

Information I studied included, We celebrate Pink Shirt Day to draw attention to the dangers of bullying and how it can make victims depressed and sometimes suicidal. Bullying is helped by bystanders who do nothing for the victim. Out standers help the victim. That's why we need more out standers in life.

Please leave a comment that will hopefully encourage me to continue Blogging and make improvements.

Nga Tangata

Kia Ora! This week we have been doing crosswords for pink shirt day. At school today for pink shirt day we dressed up in pink to represent "bullying". For the crossword we had to use six words each. The words were about outstanding. We had the choice to do a kahoot or crossword but I picked the crossword here's what it looks like.

Name of the song = That's All she Wrote

Band members names: Matiu Walters Plays Guitar, Chris Mac Plays Bass Guitar, Ji Fraser Plays Lead Guitar, Marlon Gerbes Plays Synthesizer, Eli Paewai Plays Acoustic Drum Kit, Hoani Matenga Plays Bass Guitar.

They were formed in 2008.

What City were they formed in: Dunedin their name came from the Street number of the house the lived in at Dunedin 660 Castle Street.

What is the song about?

Its about the end of something and in this song its also what the lady write in the note.

Thoughts on the HHS bells, I like the fact it changes every week because it'll get annoying with the same bell playing every term.

Athletics

Athletics

March 2nd 2021

Today in P.E we did relay training for athletics. It was my first time ever doing relays/relay training. I really really enjoyed it except getting a stich. I think I improved from last time which is good. We also trained for shout put, long jump, High jump, sprints, discus, out of all of them I liked relays.
